I've been fretting ever since I registered with the FOOD SAFETY AGENCY two weeks ago, that they may not approve of my home bakery. I've read, re-read and practically memorised the information and guides that they sent to me.
Would they have a problem with the number of sinks I have near my 'decorating station' (they prefer you to have 3!), would they dislike that I have a pet house-cat (despite all my fail-safes which I had set up to ensure that he never gets near my food), or would they just dislike me and my ideas?
I finally got the phone call this morning to say he'd be inspecting my premises in two hours, and at 11am he turned up. I showed him my kitchen and decorating station, showed him all my cleaning regimes and completed documents and records, and tried to sit patiently while he wrote up his notes. Of course it turned out that all of my fretting was for nothing - he was delighted with my knowledge and preparations and after a short interview, he awarded me with 5*!
I may have danced about a little after he left..!
